CCIB received a SCAR/CPS referral #0306-4829-5973-3020047. The reporting party (RP) Ashley Shinn reports her son, Aedan Shinn (DOB: 01/10/12), attends the Reyes family Day Care Monday thru Friday. RP reports a couple of months ago, her son attempted to tell her how the licensee disciplines the children when they are not asleep during their nap time. PER REPORTER: Latasha said when Carter was attending In Home Day Care his father (Dedrick) would pick him up from daycare around two or three o’clock in the evening. Latasha said when she would drop the child off at daycare he would have three bottles, a jug of milk, and baby food packed for him. However, she said when she would pick the child up from his father’s house around five forty-five at night he would still have two in a half full bottles, one half of bottle, and unopened food. Latasha said Carter is supposed to eat every two to three hours but was only being given a half of bottle in the eight hours of him being at daycare and with Dedrick.

She has been observed grabbing children, shoving them, and "slamming" them down to the ground or onto a napping mat. This same teacher was observed grabbing a child who emptied a box of tissues and forcible take him to the box of tissue in an attempt to humiliate the child. According to the RP Ms. McKnight was observed aggressively grabbing a child by the arm in an attempt to have the child pick up toys. None of the children sustained any injury from these incidents.

In Madera High School students on an average mentioned that the staff members in this school did not handle bullying and harassment to the expectations. I choose to view the video clip, Maggie Simpson in “The longest Daycare”. There are some entertaining pieces in the clip one being in the beginning when they test Maggie’s intelligence with the equipment manufactured by Often Wrong Technologies and going through the security check in the beginning. However, the video reveals how society often views people’s intelligence without often knowing how smart that person maybe. Maggie shows her intelligence when she encounters her first case of bullying.
