It is with great excitement that I submit my qualifications for consideration for the position of Director IV, Construction Manager. As you can clearly see from my extensive educational and professional background I have dedicated my professional and most of my personal life to the pursuit of a comprehensive understanding of the built environment. As a young boy I was fortunate to be introduced to construction by my father and uncle. This lead to a desire to pursue an education as an architect. My background in construction always served as a guiding light while I was studying the fine points of design. I developed a passion for learning and sharing that knowledge with those around me. It has always been important to me to be a well-rounded professional. Just understanding one aspect of the construction process was not an option. This led me to take advance course in both design and construction. By developing a strong base of knowledge I was able to quickly adapt to the challenges I faced early in my professional career. At the time the project was handed over to me it was behind schedule and over budget. While I cannot say I personally solved all of the issues with the project, the project in the end can be considered a success. It was also the first time that I truly understood the impact that schools can have on a community. The elementary school was a replacement school, Booker elementary, and a central part of the community. As part of the design team I got the opportunity to interact with the staff and students many time trough out the process. It was unbelievably rewarding to see the students embrace their new campus at the completion of the project.
