The Modern Understanding of The Creation Story
“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth” (Gen 1:1). This paper will concentrate on the idea that our understanding of the beginning of time in the Bible started in this verse. That we can extract through this understanding that God is a being of higher than, but a minimum of five dimensions. It will explore a view of creation from the perspective of scientific study through the six days of creation. The idea of space-time in our society is associated with evolutionary science and the “Big Bang Theory” and not the creation story. I would argue that our separated views of science and religion has damaged our understanding of the creation story; not giving the majority of Christians

We have our visible basis of length, width and depth, which can help us locate a point in three dimensional space. However we can not do this if this point in is moving in time as we are. This causes us to believe that in order to effectively find the point we must know that points exact location not just in space but time as well. Einstein has concluded through his research that space and time are actually intertwined, hence our fourth dimension being time. This A three dimensional being (humans) can create in two dimensional space, ie; drawing, computers generated software, 3D printers. We as humans can not create in three dimensions from seeming nothingness of space. We can not cross into the fourth dimension and create a cube out of the thin air. We can, however, draw a cube in a two dimensions by moving in the third dimension. We work in two dimensions to create the illusion of three dimensional objects. When God created the Universe He had to be outside of the creation in order for Him to create it. In order for God to create our four dimensional universe it can be stated that God lives in a fifth or higher dimension. To someone that lives outside of the fourth dimension our universe could easily be an object that could be held, molded and manipulated as simply as a potter molds clay. This concept of space-time also explains how God does not …show more content…
Time began "in the beginning" (Gen 1:1), or else it would not have been "the beginning," which is a time reference( בְּרֵאשִׁית – Hebrew for "in beginning"). Nowhere in this text does it say that time began on the fourth day. God made the sun, moon, and stars, which can be used to measure time. In addition, the word "day" is a reference relating to a measurement of time, and there are three of those prior to day four. With this we do run into those that would argue because there was no sun or moon to measure time by that the period of time between the first day of creation and the fourth day could be an immeasurable amount of time passing. This is we can also refute seeing that God is the one that measures the first days in a measurement we can understand, that of the evening and the morning in the same way that He measures the last three. One could argue that if time did not start until the fourth day then God did not create everything in six days but in two. I would not say that this impossible for we know nothing is impossible with God however the six days is reconfirmed in Exodus 20:11 “For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth…” Just because we did not measure time does not mean that time was not passing. Now that we have a basis for the beginning of time we can now describe and see that this is also what we
