What does the Bible say about the creation?
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1 NIV).
This is the first verse in the Bible, and I would like to study this with you. By the way, do you remember the topic? ‘How interesting it is to study the Bible’. Let me break this verse into four parts that help us to understand easily.
1. “In the beginning”
2. “God
3. “Created”
4. “the heavens and the earth
Now let’s study the verse analysing these four simple parts.

1. “In the beginning”
What does come to your mind when you hear this phrase “In the beginning”?

The summary
Let us summarise the chapter. We did not study how the creation happened in detail. It was not the intention of the chapter, but to explain how interested it is to studying the Bible. The creation of the world was just a very common and general topic that everybody likes to discuss about. Therefore, it should be a good example to begin with.
First, we just had a brainstorm about different ideas, philosophies, opinions, and religious beliefs about the creation of the world. What did we gain after analyzing all of these different ideas?
Nothing. We found that none of those were correct. Neither one nor group of people were able to address the issue and discover the right answer. At the end we realized that all of them were kind of lost.
Finally, we turned to the Bible. We actually did not do any studying, did not use any teaching materials or any related resources. Instead, we just opened the Bible and read the very first verse. In that very simple sentence we actually found what we did seek.
