Kindness is one trait every individual desires to be treated with by others. It is , after all, the state of warm welcoming that helps us assimilate in a society. Besides, no one likes the feeling of getting rejected by a particular group based on their different backgrounds, culture, physique and/or experiences. The only way that perhaps heels this rejection ,due to the difference's in an individual, are the acts of when an another individual presents and treats others with their acts of benevolence. This act then also sheds a new light on an other individual's perspective, and gives them the knowledge to assert what they think is right for them to obtain their objectives.

The book is about the life of Nat Turner, an African American slave, and the rebellion he led. The book begins in November, 1831. Nat Turner sits in a jail cell waiting for his sentencing for a rebellion he led which resulted in the death of around 60 white women, children, and men. Nat's attorney, Thomas Gray, pressures Turner to confess to the crimes he had committed hopefully to make peace with God. At this point, Nat beings on talking about his childhood where the root of his hatred for the white race.
The story “Into the Gorge” by Ron Rash was my favorite story in the text. The story provided setting that sustained the mood of mystery. It started with narrating the story of Jesse’s aunt and her mysterious death. Then, the story took place in the woods. The description of how Jesse interacted with the land conveyed his relationship to his father.
In the short story “The Sentimentality of William Tavener” by WIlla Cather, William and Hester are two distinctly different characters. William and Hester were brought up by two different backgrounds. William came from the “Back Creek Folk” and Hester came from the “Gap People”. William was brought up by a very strict father and had to work very hard. Hester grew up getting to do almost whatever she wanted.
Hello, I am Connor Love. I am writing this letter as a soon to be former student of Katy Leuschen 's "Waves of Change" writing 111 class. The first semester of my collegiate career has taught me many valuable lessons, from learning how to better succeed academically to how to deal with the flu without my mother. The lessons I have learned in writing class have not only helped my writing abilities grow, but also have helped me improve in other aspects of my life. During "Waves of Change" I learned how to revise my work, more importantly, that uncertainty during the writing process is normal, and revise my thinking.

Bridge to Terabithia 2, is a great candidate for fan fiction because the author makes an ironic change to the story. In other words the author created a “Crossover with another film… (Terabithia).” Throughout the original story the author, Katherine Paterson, had a tone of friendship, connection, and death floating around the narrative. On the other hand the author of the fan fiction keeps the meaning, characters, and tone the same. Otherwise the emotions, scenery, and perspective is changed in the eyes of the characters in Bridge to Terabithia 2.
Evelyn How Mr. Catrette Lit/Writ 7 September 2015 In Two Kinds, a short story by Amy Tan, it is about a mom who pushes her daughter and strives for her to be some type of prodigy. The mom came from a tough background, moving to San Francisco after losing her parents, her family home, her first husband, and two twin baby girls. She “believed you could be anything you wanted to be in America”, so she didn’t regret her decision.
In the poem, “A Hymn to Childhood,” Li-Young Lee talks about having fragmented individuality from childhood due to war. He is lost in perception of a traumatic childhood caused by war and a normal naïve childhood. Lee depicts the two diverged childhoods from his memory through the use of antithesis to emphasize the world perceived by a self fragmented individual. Throughout the poem, he consistently presents two opposing ideas to show what it feels like to grow up with emotional trauma.
