In the future, I would love to be doing something that involves dealing with criminals and studying them. A potential job I think I would enjoy is criminology and becoming a criminologist. Also, criminal psychology is another career path I have been exploring. As a have done, research it was difficult to find an exact list of what they do day to day, because criminologist does a lot of varying tasks. An example of some of those tasks is conducting survey, studying criminal behavior, devising strategies to help reduce crime, conducting interviews, and formulating policy recommendations. From that list it is easy to tell that criminologist has a demanding job and can be doing something different depending on their skill or where they are needed. …show more content…

One area of the job that I really want to do is having interviews with criminals to learn more about their mindset and motives. Like I said before, I have been looking into criminal psychology, which focuses more on the mindset of an individual, but they only work with the crime and the criminal to decide their mental health status. I want to come up with solutions that help prevent some of the crimes from happening again, and that is what criminologist do. With that said, there are still some downfalls that come with this job, which cannot really be fixed. Some of the disadvantages would be academic requirements, work conditions, competition, and salary. This job helps the law enforcement to be one step of the bad guy, which is going to need full attention. Law enforcement look to criminologist for a lot of answers and they are going to have to be prepared to know and answer all the questions. In this career I am going to have to know what I am doing and be serious about each task I am giving. Criminologist do many different tasks, and can not make mistakes. I simple mistake can turn into a serious problems. For example, criminologist see many cases and sometimes those cases require them to testify in court. Criminologist have to understand that what they say can have a big impact on a case. They can be in control of whether or not a person goes to jail or walks free. To go along with that, criminologist job is to better understand why criminals commit crimes and they perform many studies and developed many theories. If they put one of the theories to test and it backfires and is reflected bad on the criminologist who come up with it, and gives them a not so good reputation. This is the disadvantages that I am less worried about because if I am confident in my abilities and have people to check over my research than I should
