Culture is defined as a learned system of thought and behavior that belongs to and typifies a relatively large group of people; it is the composite of their shared beliefs, values, and practices (O’Hair & Wiemann, 2011, p.66). Culture isn’t something you are born with. It is learned through communication and observation of parents, siblings, and other people who have had an influence on your life. Culture is also shared. This means that it’s a learning experience. Another way culture is defined is by symbols. For example, Russians are known for their vodka. Some people are also integrated, and then there is one last component of dynamic culture. That means that it is changing constantly! It is made up of three branches, The Army, Air Force, and the Navy. With nearly 800,000 Active Duty personnel and 2.5 million reservists the Russian Federation, according to the global fire power website, currently ranks them number 2 of 133 countries with a defense budget of 44.6 billion dollars (Staff, 2017). That’s just shy of the United States coming in at number 1. Unlike the United States though, their politics are vastly different. Their political parties are categorized by three different types. The main political party which is called the United Russia, which was founded in 2001. It was created by their president Valdimir Putin and resulted in the merging several different political parties. The next two are called the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and the ultranationalist Liberal Democratic Party of Russia. Their President Valdimir Putin has the authority to issue decrees and directives that have the force of law with legislative review and holds the highest authority (Russian Culture, 2008). The Prime Minister will oversee the Executive branch which is compromised of the Cabinet, State Duma, and the Federation, also known as the Legislative Branch. Although, they’re a functioning country; their policies and their leadership can be somewhat questionable to the outcome of their longevity in our emerging world.
