In many aspects, the internet has shaped society today. Not only has the internet helped people with connecting to family and friends, it has also made it easier for people to do research ad or look information up. The internet can be a great investment however, nothing is worse that what it can do to another person. Bullying has become the internet’s worst creation. No one is safe on the internet, which is a huge problem. Because the internet is used by millions, bullying has pushed its way into targeting individuals. What they failed to mention is that cyberbullying can interferes with someone’s everyday life. A drop in grades, attendance issues at work, lack of communication at home, these are just a few of many different ways in which cyberbullying can affect people. Being harassed can be overwhelming. Cyberbullying can lead to the constant feeling of distress and worry, due to the fact that victims are unaware of what could happen next (Ollove 5). Victims are mainly dealing with depression and low self-esteem issues. The two of these combined can be deadly, and it could lead anywhere from self-harm or to suicide. It is very important that these victims have a support group to help them get through these tough times. Although it is sometimes unknown whether or not someone is getting cyberbullied, it is important to look for characteristics such has: mood change, distress, lack of emotions, etc. when being aware. The best way to help someone who might be dealing with this would be to seek help. Be sure to encourage them to go and talk to someone about what is going on. It is always very important to express that they have support from their peers if they should ever need someone (Phillips 3). It is a real problem that needs to be minimized. No person should have to sit there, and be pushed to a breaking point that could result in the taking of their life. Take the time to talk about these serious matters with others. Be sure to express the importance behind getting it out into the open. Just like everything else in the world, the internet has its pros and cons. The internet can and should be used for great things like connecting with family and friends however, the internet could also do a lot of damage as well. The internet needs to crack down on the bullying that lies within it to endure tat there will not be any more suicides, self-consciouness, or making any impacts that affect everyday
