This organizational analysis provides an overview of the Dress for Success San Antonio (DFS San Antonio) nonprofit organization. I will highlight some strengths and challenges, and describe ways that DFS San Antonio can overcome those challenges to further its growth and development. DFS San Antonio is facing two major managerial and operational challenges: (a) lack of sufficient and diverse fundraising income; and (b) inadequate engagement in fundraising activities from the board of directors. And, to evoke trust across the staff, volunteers, clients and other stakeholders, DFS San Antonio prominently displays its code of ethics in the lobby area which states, “we recognize, respect and value individual differences…commitment to dignity and respect is the cornerstone of our services to clients, each other and the community” (DFS San Antonio, 2015). The diversity of the clients reflects the population of San Antonio; with over 50 percent of the clients being Hispanic/Latino. Sixteen percent of the clients are African American, twenty-two percent are Caucasian and the remaining are distributed across the other ethnic groups.
