Parents Need a Say
Some parents are too strict on their kids. Others are too lose about rules. When it comes to dating, parents have several diverse rules. Parents need to have some control and guidance in who their son or daughter dates. If a parent has no connection to whoever their son or daughter is dating the relationship could be violent, abusive or destructive. Something like that going unnoticed can lead to extremely bad consequences. Parents need to be connected and informed about their son or daughter's relationship.
Many teens make rash and unusual decisions when they are young. Teens brains are not fully developed and are prone to making decisions that they wouldn't make if they were fully developed and tend to take more chances …show more content…

It also showed that in ages between 15 to 25 peaks in several risky adventures. More specifically, teens in the ages of 14 to 17 take the most risks. At that age many teens are nearly, or already driving and those are the ages in which many begin to Most drug or alcohol abuse starts during adolescence. In the U.S., one in three teen deaths is from car crashes, many of which involving alcohol. Teens also tend to take risks when they are pressured by others and especially when the reward for that risk is high. (David Dobbs p. 54). Family relationships help build good skills and character for children. Parents have a big impact on their child's life. If parents are supportive yet somewhat critical it can help their child for future experiences such as dating. Having a strong, supportive relationship between child, especially teens, and parents is more likely for their son or daughter to have better dating and relationship skills. If teens are able to keep those strong relationships throughout their life, not only in dating but with their parents, they are more likely to have more successful relationships.
