Deborah Olar, my oldest sister, was pregnant with a girl and diagnosed with mild preeclampsia. Preeclampsia is when the mother’s blood pressure increases and when there’s an increase of protein in the urine. Also, where your kidneys start to fail slowly. Also, where as she did, gain 5 pounds in only water every week. For example, in ten weeks she gained 50 pounds. A marshmallow she was, or as she would call herself a rolie polie! Her feet were inflated to 3 times bigger than her regular 7-½ feet. So when you would poke her feet it would take at least 6 seconds for her skin to pop back up in place. The baby already stayed too long in Deborah’s canal. That’s something where the baby goes through to get out of there and unto the world. At this point, I learned that pushing takes a whole entire other process. So everyone got in their place, and then the pushing started. I never saw this side of Deborah, she literally was breathless and too numb! Pushing after about a good ten minutes, it was taking awhile. Her face got all quenched up! So then, a nurse thought that it would be a good idea to push down on Deborah’s stomach! Finally, Dr. Lowe got the baby out, next, he had held it by the feet up, with its head down. But when she got out she didn’t make a big enough cry, at least one that I wanted to hear. It was a little fragile cry, barely. As I started recording, I first noticed a bruise. That really alarmed me! Then I looked again, she had had multiple bruises, on her hand, forearm, and feet. Then her cry was, oh so, fragile! Now, I knew something wasn’t right! Thinking do I show my mom these bruises or is it normal? I ended up soft heartedly. Tears were gently running down my face, as on my moms face. It was happy tears, but mostly painful tears. It was devastating to hear what news had followed up with the bruises. The moment the horrible news hit our ears, all of our jaws and eyes dropped to the floor. Abigail had her shoulder bone broken! Then, the doctors stated to us that the only thing we could do is wrap her arm, and therapy, which really didn’t help much! Both the newborn and mother were in much pain. But the fact that her shoulder bone was broken, really broke and hurt Abigail’s moms’ heart
