Integrity is the common theme that guides the employees of the district. Integrity is always doing the right thing even when it’s the hard thing. Also, it can be defined as being honest and having strong moral principles. Integrity is not only an important trait for the district to have, but also for a person. I believe that having a set of morals is what defines a person.
It is important to first touch on the topic of authenticity to oneself, which includes loyalty to the individual's beliefs and morals. The concept of being authentic to one's true self is greatly founded upon making decisions and taking actions based on personal principle rather than the opinions or influence of others. Everyone knows that saying the truth and being honest is fundamental. However, sometimes it is not always easy to be truthful, so we end up having to lie. Some reasons for those actions could be because we are afraid of being judged by others, not ready for the truth ourselves or we may be afraid of hurting someone else’s feelings when saying the truth to them. Although, being truthful to yourself and others is important, it is not always followed. Therefore, one may say that it is much easier to just lie than to tell the truth.
Integrity is defined as the quality of having, living by, keeping, and defending one’s firm moral principles in all circumstances. Men throughout history have exhibited this trait. Martin Luther King, Jr., portrayed this quality when he led the African-American Civil Rights Movement. Integrity was also ubiquitous throughout the Bible. Joseph, a Biblical character, displayed this quality throughout his life of slavery in Egypt.
Mistakes Happen Honesty is always the best policy. The saying that has been ingrained in people’s minds since childhood claims that telling the truth is always best. Whoever first started the saying understood that lying, or simply not telling the whole truth, has negative consequences. If something as small as telling a little white lie has a negative outcome, how much worse must it be when a mistake is kept hidden? Not admitting mistakes can have a very negative outcome for all of the people involved.
