Love is difficult to find, but is even more difficult when you have no love. “The only thing more difficult than the crucifixion of love is the crucifixion of no love (Livatino).” To have no love is an unending loneliness and a void you can’t fill yourself. It’s almost as if a piece of you is missing and can only be filled by another. For me, I believe this is the goal of humans: to find love and to be loved.

It’s what drives our feelings and is sometimes what we call following our heart, even though our heart is only a muscle. What makes people friends is their play of emotions: what they like, who they like, and who they are as a person. These are the key items that make up a person’s personality. Whether someone is more beautiful than another can be a decision to date that gorgeous person rather than if you get along with their emotions and personality. This was the case for Aziz Ansari’s parents. “The first girl, he said, was “a little too tall,” and the second girl was, “a little too short.” Then he met my mom.
