In now days, many people do not know what does the word “happiness” means or feels, some people may think it is when they are in a good mood or when something happens and they feel very good about it. Aristotle said: "Every man has a right to be happy because happiness lies in the leisure spirit.” To get there people must have pass through a bad time or situation because happiness is where there is virtue and true effort, because life is not a game. Being honest, I had never seen happiness from a point of view as clear as Aristotle did. Happiness is a subject that has preoccupied man since its inception, and in the same way, to philosophy.
Happiness is a type of emotion that makes you feel and act excited about everything. It can start with you just smiling to yourself and to others around you. I was always told that I wasn’t myself without showing my smile because it tells people something about you that is deep in your heart, such as how you have such a spiritual soul for yourself and for others. Started as a relationship with a mother that comforts your heart into what matters the most and how much it changes someone’s life just showing and making a difference in every single person that you may walk by or pass by. Love of one another shows families how much we are worth in this world such as having love as one of our top priorities in our lives.
The daily use of TV, social media and magazines, publishes the idea of happiness. Media shows that happiness is ones accomplishments and possessions. What a person has to show for their life supposedly should bring them happiness. Opposed to how the culture defines happiness, it is not in possessions of accomplishments.
Being happy is something that feels inherently good, but understanding what exactly makes someone happy can be a challenge. Happiness is referred to as “a feeling or state of well-being and contentment” (Webster Dictionary). Happiness has been a debatable topic for many years now. People usually get happiness from different things. Generally, happiness has to do with an emotion or mental state that can be characterized through pleasant or positive emotions such as contentment and joy.
Happiness is the state of being content. It’s one of the many emotions a person will feel throughout their life. They always say if you’re not happy what is the point? A person’s happiness occurs by different external situations but also internally. Happiness occurs through wealth, love, freedom, achievement, and food to lead a fulfilling life.
As Aristotle once said, “ Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of life, the whole aim and end of human existence… Happiness depends on ourselves.” Although this is quite a candid remark, there is a lot more to it. The main question people ask subsequent to this is: “How can we achieve our happiness?” They expect a simple answer but the truth is, there is none.
Happiness cannot be attained simply by just gaining one item, such as a Barbie doll; happiness is an accumulation of the way one regards one’s self and the world around them. That does not mean that one’s life has to be perfect to be happy, it just means that they can look through the imperfections and still feel content about their life. Outlooks on more emotional factors, such as dealing with conflict, can contribute to the achievement of happiness, as well as more materialistic factors such as finance, and occupation. Ultimately, happiness is achieved by a person’s ability to make the best in their situations, even when there are flaws.
Happiness is easily one of the most popular subjects anywhere that humanity exists, yet it is also one of the most elusive aspects of life. Perhaps it is because it is so abstract that people do not really understand how exactly to pursue it. But you surely have at least one memory of a time that you were perfectly happy, where you forgot everything and just got lost in the euphoria. Everyone does. Think about that one time deeply.
Individually, we all have something or someone that brings us happiness. Whether it’s a constant feeling or only comes in waves or in small doses, it exists in all of us. This raises the question of whether finding happiness is a matter of simply biology or the social circumstances. Someone with a better functioning serotonin transporter gene (5-HTTLPR) than another does not guarantee a more satisfying quality of life. Although it’s a key component in the serotonin metabolism process, this gene doesn’t define how happy or unhappy one will be.
What is happiness? According to Aristotle, a Greek philosopher, the purpose of mankind lives is to pursue happiness. Whatever age we are, we always look for pleasure. When I was a child, I was happy when playing with my toys and eating delicious food my Mom cooked. As growing, I went to school and found joy with friends.
Happiness “Happiness” the feel that everyone always want and don’t want to lost it in life. The person always has happiness; he / she will have healthy of mind. The happiness is the state of mind or feeling characterized by love, joy, or pleasure. The happiness of all the most people is get from family and friend relationship. When the people have happiness, it feels like enjoyment or delight.
It is true that people hardly make a precise definition of happiness. In my opinion, it is difficult for people to realize what happiness is because they are preoccupied with the various things in life that they think need to accomplish first before they can be happy. While people might not know what exactly it is, there are some measures to attain happiness. Primarily, many tend to concentrate majority of their energy and time on studying, working and so forth, that defining happiness does not concern them anymore.
Happiness is helping others in my opinion. Nothing is better than doing good deeds for people. I tend to worry about others before I think about my own needs. The most meaningful reading to the class that we read this year is definitely, Aristotle, Nicomachean Ethics. In Book 1 it tells what the “end” or “goal” of the human being is.
What Is Happiness? Happiness is something that almost all individuals in the world today strive for. Everything is somehow linked with happiness. For example, you work to make money and you use that money to buy things, things that fulfill your own happiness.
Happiness that runs deep is those moments that bring more of an afterglow. One thing that blocks spontaneous flow of happiness is self-awareness. When we are aware or anxious about whether we are achieving happiness, then it is not going to happen. Aspirational happiness is often associated with fake cheerfulness or without any seriousness of life. By the very nature of happiness, the opposite of it is not unhappiness or even depression, but anxiety.
