In every decision you make you want happiness as the end result. That feeling of joy is brewed from contentment and satisfaction in our lives. Our emotions affect the decisions we make. These affect relationships, both personally and personally, your psychological health, and physical health.

A 2015 study by the Pennsylvania State University and Duke University, published in the American Journal of Public Health found that your emotional skills could determine your future success. It was carried out for a 19-year period where the researchers followed kindergarten children with different emotional competencies into adulthood. Happiness is hard to define, but unhappy feelings are easy to note because they weigh heavily. Happiness has little to do with your circumstances because you are in control of it. In fact, a study by the University of Illinois established that people who are incredibly rich are just but a tad bit happier than the average people who work for them. Happiness has a lot to do with your outlook toward life.

In addition, a study by a team of psychologists in the University of California found that genetics and the state of things in your life are only responsible for 50 percent of your happiness -- the rest is up to you. The study also noted that even the smartest people can be caught up in emotional mistakes that ruin their happiness.
