What is a religion? Religion basically means what individuals believe in and what they worship. Religion can be supernatural, superhuman controlling power, and imaginary. Different religion worship different God, some have one and some have more than one. Most religions are man made, it started from one man and follow by a group of people to become one religion. Different Religions have different kinds of worship system or sacrifice in order to show commitment to their savior, God, or Gods. Every religion is perceived by their symbol which has the deepest meaning. For Example, cross for Christianity, which means Jesus’ dies on the cross to take away the sin of the world. Christianity started about 2000 years ago when the Jesus of Nazareth was born, Jesus himself is Judaism and Christianity developed out of Judaism after Jesus death. When jesus was alive he went around taught other about how to live closer to God and do some miracle things such as waking up a death person, make the blind seek, and deft person heard. Christian faith spread throughout the world by Paul missionary travel. Traditional Christian beliefs as one God in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and the belief that Jesus is the son of God who sends down from heaven to take away the sin of the world. As time pass there are many Christianity group split from Roman catholic around the world. Baptist is one of the groups that developed from Christianity. Although Roman catholic and baptist worship the same God and Jesus christ is their savior, there are many part that aren’t the same. Baptist rejects the baptism of infants because they believed the only adult who believes in Jesus is their savior should be baptized, while a Catholic priest baptized everybody even newborns. Roman Catholic emphasizes “mass” the sacrifice of the Eucharist to remember Jesus’ last supper with his follower, the actual body and blood of Christ by a priest. It’s believed that whoever receive Eucharist live close to Jesus and remember how much he loved them. On the other hand, Baptist believes that Christ died only once, by reading, translated, obeying the world of God in bible and teaching others about God make them live closer to Jesus. Roman Catholic believes in offering prayers to saint and Mary, Jesus mother, asking them to intercede for them to God. Baptise only believe in God through Christ, so they don’t offer prayers to saint or Mary. Roman catholic have a prayer book and pray it orderly, while baptism pray from their heart.
