Everybody has their own unique version of what democracy is and that is what makes democracy a complex concept. My democracy college represents many images and texts that I associate with democracy. When I think of democracy I think of people because people are the foundation of democracy. One element in my collage is our founding father, which are located on Mount Rushmore. These founding fathers laid the foundation for our democracy, they are the gentlemen who sat in a hot room fighting for our freedom. Throughout my collage there are symbols that represent the freedoms provided with our democracy. Voting is an important part of our democracy because it gives people a voice to be heard.When I think of our democracy I think of the eagle protecting and resembling the idea of freedom that each person has with our democracy. When thinking about our democracy and freedoms and important element I associate with our democracy is our armed forces. Our country’s strength and freedom have come from our military. Men and women have given their lives, so people of all colors can have freedoms. Our five branches of the military stand strong on all five points of the star resembling the idea that the armed forces are our protection and provided us the freedom we have. Another important element in my collage is the three branches of government. The legislative, executive, and judicial branch help, support and guide democracy. The legislative branch is captured through the Capital. The executive branch is captured through the white house, and the judicial branch is captured through the gavel.
