The Republican and Democrat parties are very different in certain ways. The Republican’s belief is that every person should take care of and or perform his or her role in society, and that the government shouldn’t be involved unless the community can’t reasonably resolve the issue (svgop.com). Democrats on the other hand believe quite the opposite. They believe the government should have more control over the society and provide for the people. One key difference between the republican and democrat parties is how they both look at the economy. The Republican Party has more open and or free thoughts about it and promote people making their own decisions and using their skills in the work industry. The democrats on the other hand “believe that the economy is too complicated for individuals to navigate alone. They believe that business decisions should be guided by government officials” (svgop.com). another key difference is how both of the parties view taxes and government spending. The Republicans believe that we should spend money on our military because they believe in a strong military with the best technology and equipment. The Democrats believe that we should spend a lot less on our military because it isn’t that important. “Democrats believe that true security comes from negotiating with foreign countries, even if they harbor or have financial ties to terrorists groups” (svgop.com). The Democrats believe that health care is something that is part of being an American citizen. They think that everyone should have it and nobody should be without no matter if it’s because of money issues or not.
