Abuse refers to any action that intentionally harms or injures another person. Spouses, Children, and the elderly are the three most common victims of abuse. Abuse comes in different forms and is not always easily spotted. I will go over various ways abuse can take place and how one can help bring justice for the victims. When most people hear the term Physical Abuse, their mind likely goes to ugly scenes of violence where one person is being over powered by another. Physical abuse includes the obvious punching, kicking, stabbing, biting, pushing, slapping and other acts of violence toward another person but there are also other ways that one can be physically abused. Some seemingly less violent forms of physical abuse can be more harmful than physically assaulting someone. For example, Withholding medical care from someone who is unable to care for themself, such as a child, someone elderly, or someone who is ill stricken also qualifies as physical abuse. This includes withholding medicine, medical equipment, food or fluids, or even hygienic assistance.
