Trade unions are an external stakeholder of the business because of the business makes decisions they do not necessarily have to be informed.
Asda is affected greatly by trade unions as before employees were not allowed to join trade unions while working for them but as legislation has changed this clause has also changed. I believe this was done to intimidate employees and make them think they cannot do anything to oppose decisions made by the owners of the business as they do not have any voice in the decisions. But this has also changed now employees are allowed to join trade unions and protest against working policies that may be seen unfair to the employees. They also have the right to protest if they not given the right amount of pay or the correct environment for suitable working conditions within the workplace. Trade unions are there to discuss with your employer and protest on your behalf if you believe you are not being treated fairly in your place of work.
