I am recommending Mrs. Stacie Freeman for the Roy & Mary Shelton Teaching Excellence and Campus Leadership Award. As a Human Services major I have the pleasure of attending Mrs. Freemans classes on a daily bases, and over the years of obtaining my degree I have come to witness firsthand her dedication not only to Bethel University but also to the community as a whole.
As a student I get to work with Mrs. Freeman frequently and am extremely impressed with her work not only as a teacher here at Bethel University, but also with her involvement with the after school program within the community, her work with the service scholarship students, and her willingness to break out of her norm to teach at Dyersburg High School so that the children get a good education.
Over the years Mrs. Freeman has been a part of many Committees and activities here at Bethel. She is frequently seen at workshops for teachers, so that she can improve her already excellent teaching skills, attending faculties meeting so she can stay up to date on the daily activities at the school, leading mission trips, and many other organized activities around the school and community.

Freeman is a diligent teacher who works non-stop to make sure that every student understands the material she is teaching to their best abilities and always finds the time to work with students if they need extra help or clarification on an assignment. For example, just this semester a fellow student feel ill and missed serval classes, causing her to become extremely behind in the class, and worried that it would be impossible to catch back up. However, Mrs. Freeman stayed after class with the student on several occasion to make sure that she had all the material she needed to be able to complete all the missed assignments and to make sure she understood the material that she had
