1. Describe two scientific ways of validating a personality instrument (for example a personality questionnaire, showing that it measures the psychological construct—personality—it is intended to measure).

Two scientific ways of validating a personality instrument would be with reliability and validity they are essential for studies, measurement or data collection and must meet these basic requirements for it can be used.

Reliability refers to the internal consistency, inter-rater reliability, test-retest, and standardized scoring. Reliability is the degree to which you’re repeating the same subject, object or application and produces similar results and are consistent with previous measurements. For example, other researchers should be able to perform the same experiment under the same conditions and generate the same results. This will reinforce the results. Without replication and not producing significant results, the experiment and research have not met all the requirements of verifiability.
