A Design Engineer is someone who develops and researches ideas and systems for manufacturing purposes. They work to improve the functions and efficiency of products that already exist. A Design Engineer is a person who may be involved in any of the various engineering disciplines including civil, mechanical, electrical, chemical, textiles, aerospace, nuclear, manufacturing, systems, and structural/ building/ architectural works. They often work in teams with other designers to create the drawings necessary for prototyping and production. They work to make products safer and cost-effective. The school criteria to get into A&M is at the least a 1300 in the SAT and a spot in the top 25% in their class. It will cost about 27,452 dollars a year for an in-state resident. To get into Michigan State University, a minimum of a 3.69 GPA is required. It will cost about 27,290 dollars for an in-state resident. To get into the University of Texas at Austin, a top 23 percent spot among SAT testers is required. They take SAT scores ranging between 1210 to 1600. The cost to attend is 25,134 dollars a year. Although it may look and seem difficult to get into these universities, it most certainly is possible. It takes determination and passion and of course, effective grades are key. What I mean by this is that designers are constantly involved to ensure that the final product is economical, eco-friendly, and appealing to its users. They use practice and rigorous test runs to ensure that the final product is safe, efficient, and ready for use. For example, they make sure products like medicines, cars, jets, and even basic everyday things like our cell phones and computer are in working order and will continue to function under constant use.
