People think Mechanical Engineering is a hands on a kind of job, but really you are behind a desk most of the time, and only called to do things for when you are needed. After comparing Baylor University, Texas A&M University in Kingsville, and Texas Tech University based on my criteria of tuition costs, distance from home, and a new job, Texas A&M University Kingsville would the best choice in helping me pursue a career in Mechanical Engineering. “The Department of Mechanical and Industrial engineering is one of six departments within the College of Engineering”(A&M). The school’s tuition is around $29,000 for two full semesters(A&M). Getting into the school could possibly be the hardest thing about the school itself since the admission requirements are very high standards. “Students graduating in the top 10% of their high school class and completing a college preparatory high school program meet regular admission requirements”(A&M). The college has very disciplined teachers, who want to help you achieve a better future, and the school provides a chance at giving undergraduates a superior education and knowledge for their life after. Other schools will not match A&M’s, as Baylor University “...charges tuition at a flat rate of $39,000 per academic year..”(Baylor University). Since Baylor is a private baptist university(Baylor University), it would not be like A&M University where it is a”..public university..”(A&M). Then Texas Tech has a, “Tuition and fees based on 15hrs per semester...undergraduate is $38,000..”(Texas Tech). Which is cheaper than A&M but requires extra hours per semester which is not really the best thing.
