I have always found Law to be a fascinating and stimulating subject, my passion began while studying Law at A level, where my teacher a qualified solicitor, often spoke about past cases she had dealt with; this would often lead to classroom discussions, and debates. My ambition to become a solicitor became more apparent throughout my law degree, where as a member of the public I frequently attended trials at my local crown court.
During my third year of my university studies, I attended a BPP law school workshop, where Clare Grant visited our university and spoke about how much the law school has to offer the students. This included an awarding pro bono service and a career guaranteed promise, she also mentioned how much networking there is available and access to the careers office. I like the fact that the law is progressive and responsive to issues presented. I also studied a health and social module, preparing to work with children which especially focussed on child protective laws, throughout the course we were given many real-life case studies involving neglected and abused children and were thought the approaches to take, from first instant all the way to prosecution, I found this specifically advantageous as the module wasn’t focused purely of the legal approach, it allowed me to view the whole child protection system included the role of social services, teachers, and healthcare professionals as well as lawyers and that of the
