“Undergraduate study gave me the opportunity to understand existing knowledge in my field. Graduate school gives me the opportunity to contribute to that knowledge.” I fell silent when I read an article in my friend’s Blog, a graduate student at Case Western Reserve University, main reasons to go to graduate school. I would also like to do the same, contribute knowledge to my country.

Since childhood, I have always wanted to understand more about the constantly changing world that we live in, wanting to understand the causes and effects of current and future human interactions. During my teenage years I started reading internationally recognized journals and magazines. My interest then gradually shaped into communication and linguistics by the ways in which I experienced languages: as a learner. Almost everything I have ever learned seems to have come from reading. Admittedly, my favorite subject was Psychology Communication. I found studying the human mind and behavior remarkable. This sparked my interest for teaching and child development. During the time spent at university I was involved in other activities connected to my area of study. These included translating (to and from Indonesian and English), and one month of experience in giving tuition to elementary students in English. I found teaching to be a particularly rewarding and inspiring job. Helping young people to realize their potential would be a job that I would look forward to.
