Growing up, I always strived to emulate my father. He was a standout football player in high school and college, so I wanted to play football. He attended Georgetown Prep, so I wanted to go there. However, I never expected to enter the same profession as my father. At the beginning of my college process during my junior year, I was unsure of what I aspired to study. After researching various majors, I finally concluded that I wanted to study business in college. After more research, I found that accounting was the best for me, just like my father. After looking at several schools, I discovered that the University of Wisconsin was perfect fit for me. I feel that I could continue this feeling of community best at Wisconsin; Not only in the classroom, but also throughout campus life. With the seventh best public undergraduate business program in the country, the Wisconsin School of Business offers a competitive program that will both enhance my academic experience and prepare me for my future in the work force. The emphasis on experiential learning attracted me to the University of Wisconsin. Personally, I find learning through action and experience preferable to reading about or taking notes on a topic. Experiential learning provides real-world examples that one will face later in life, which better prepares students for the future. The importance of collaboration within the school of business is another attractive element because it enhances the sense of community already instilled in the university.
