The past is history the present is past and the future is now. That saying in today's world is happening more and more, where kids are looking forward into what’s going to happen in their future more than ever. One of the main stressful aspects of the future for kids is what college they’re going to attend. One of the amazing colleges out there is the University of Maryland located in College Park it is one of the premier colleges throughout the entire country. It sets excellent standards and expects the most of people who are trying to be accepted into the school. Belonging to the Big Ten conference Maryland is a very big school with new and exciting things always going, no person could make a wrong choice in going through with the decision of becoming a fighting terrapin. In high school every student stresses about Grade Point Average(GPA) well the average GPA for an incoming freshman is usually around a 4.15 and their SAT scores for math have to be in between 620-730 while the reading ones have to range from 590-690 (“University of Maryland”). You have to have a very good academic high school career in order to be accepted into such an amazing school. Not only is it very hard to get into Maryland through academics wise, but it’s also a pretty expensive school and it is different for people who live in Maryland and who don’t live in the state. The total amount of money per year for a Maryland resident to attend is 24,588$. For an out of state resident the cost is 45,736$, that is more than three times the cost if someone is out of the state of Maryland (“College Park”).
