“Born Worker” Prompt
Tricksters Tom Sawyer from Mark Twain's "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" and Arnie Sanchez from "Born Worker" have both similarities and differences. Some similarities are that both Arnie and Tom lie to get what they want. Arnie lied to Jose that he was going to help him with the work for the jobs they get but in the end he doesn’t really help. An example of this is when they are at Mr. Clemens house to clean his pool, as soon as Mr. Clemens finishes giving instructions and “Left, the poodle leading the way, Arnie immediately climbed out of the pool and sat on the edge, legs dangling,” over the edge, complaining to Jose that “It’s going to be blazing.” This makes Arnie similar to Tom Sawyer because Tom lied to his friends that whitewashing the fence was fun, and put on a show making it look like fun until they were giving him things to get to help whitewash the fence while “the retired artist,” Tom, “sat on a barrel in the shade close by dangled his legs, munched his apple, and planed the slaughter of more innocents.” Some differences between Arnie and Tom are that the person

We can tell this because Arnie was willing to split the profits they made with “Jose seventy-thirty,” whereas Tom tricked his friends into doing the work for him and they didn’t get anything out of it, only
