Religious Influences Towards Western Civilization Religions influence is a factor that effects most societies and spreads from all over the world creating civilizations and cultures that are still continuously changing today. Religion is one of the factors that has made a significant impact on the development of western civilization as with every worldly society. An example of this impact is in the result of the Crusades, including the duration, greatly affecting the religious influence on the western world socially, politically, and economically. An example of a western civilization that was greatly impacted was Europe with the spread of Christianity because of the Crusades and what that influence caused.
A comparison that they both have is they both wanted to be kind to others and mostly to be kind to other family members. While a contrast of them both is the Christianity religion from the western religion wanted to mostly focus on worshiping thy father and mother and make sure they are well taken care of and healthy at all times because parents are most important when it comes to helping with sickness and eternal life, while confucianism from the eastern religion wanted citizens to worship EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING they thought that everyone was important and everyone needs to be worshiped in some way. Not to mention, in the foldable in class Hinduism from the eastern religion and Christianity from the western religion can also be compared and contrasted. Believe it or not religions have a same foundation of principles. Examples are Islam, Confucianism and Buddhism. They all believe in righteousness, selflessness, compassion, and devotion . Although these religions were founded many years apart and began in different parts of the world, they all share mildly common and basic principles as well as fundamental truths. Beginning with Islam, muslims believe that there is one true magnificent God, and that he has no son that he shares his glory with.
A critical look at the similarities of Buddhism and Christianity Buddhism and Christianity share many differences. However, these two religions also share similar ideas in regards to their society, structure of beliefs and the importance absent authoritative figures such as Jesus Christ and the Buddha. Currently there are no written records by Buddha himself, most of what is taught was spoken to his followers his teachings were written down by others similarly, Jesus Christ wrote nothing himself but accounts of his ministry can be found in sources such as the bible . both the Buddha and Jesus Christ used story’s or parables to teach those who approached them these narratives often reflected current events or the current world around them this style of teaching made it easy for people who chose to follow them better relate though both teachers are now gone but their influence created ripple effects among generations both religions continue to adapt and change through time but the teachings of both the Buddha and Jesus Christ as absent authority figures remain apparent and a central part of the beliefs systems
During our first semester as a class we have studied three different religions, Judaism, buddhism, and hinduism. Although I find all three of these relations extremely interesting I personally believe that I align most with judaism most because I am a christian and the two are remarkably similar. Buddhism is also very appealing to me but I personally am I'm fan of more of a rock solid religion because what I look for in religion like most people is stability. Hinduism to me is the most interesting time because I know the least about and and it is a very thought provoking religion.

I grew up around Catholicism and Eastern orthodox religion. I learned about Protestants in school and didn’t know anyone who belong to that religion. Later on when I started traveling more I realized that majority of Germany was actually Protestant and not Catholic. I guess I was blinded by political power and glamour of Vatican.
East Asian religions refer to a wide variety of religious traditions that originated in East Asia, including China, Japan, Korea, and Vietnam. The most prominent of these religions are Confucianism, Taoism, and Shinto in Japan, and Buddhism, which arrived in East Asia from India. These religions have had a significant impact on the culture and history of the region, and continue to be practiced by millions of people today. They often share similarities and have had a complex interplay and influence on each other throughout history. East Asian religions, like Confucianism, Taoism, Shinto, and Buddhism, all have their own unique beliefs and practices.
The East and West are polar opposites of each other in the concept of self and object. The West arises to become a selfish individualized manner which is intensely aware of oneself who always needs to follow one path and direction. Its consciousness is always self aware of the surroundings and interprets the world as if oneself is the most important aspect. This is where the distinction between self and other come into play. It involves the perception of oneself and the perception that others have on itself.
In these five religions Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism there are many differences but they have many similarities. There are many similarities but we will only talk about a certain few. Some of the similarities are all religions have a “leader”, holy books, and they all have their own symbol. All of these religions have similarities as I listed above. In the following paragraphs we will talk about the similarities that I have listed above.
Conclusion In the Western and Eastern religions presented, one can conclude that are many similarities and differences between them. Taking into consideration the Western religions, they all have the belief in one God in common. Moreover, the emphasis on community is present in all three Western religions examined. Additionally, the three Western religions examined have a fixed organizational religious network, be it a church, a synagogue or a mosque.
Judaism and Hinduism have many things in common. Both ancient religions believe in a higher power and both began as being specific to a certain region before later expanding in the late 19th century, with Judaism originating in Egypt and Hinduism taking its roots in India. With that being said, there are also several differences between the two religions. Hindus believe that we are reborn from a previous life until we achieve “oneness”, which is the unity of all beings with the Divine. Jews, on the other hand, believe that we are created in God’s image with the capacity to either be good or evil.
