The person I chosen to talk about is Dr. Paul Fauteck. At a young age he was doing small petty crimes and cutting quitting school. He has been caught stealing, theft and burglary. One of his crime friends was shot and killed by police at age 18.
The following is a summary of the forensic interview with Gracie Points, not an exact transcript. The interview took place on March 15, 2018 at 10:24 AM, at Kids’ Space Child Advocacy Center in Muskogee, OK. Megan Merrill was the forensic interviewer who interviewed Gracie. I and other co-workers involved in the investigation, observed the forensic interview from an observation room. Megan began the interview by introducing herself to Gracie and explaining the layout of the forensic interviewing room.
The CSI effect describes the way CSI is exaggerated on crime television shows such as CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and Sherlock which influences public perception. As a result, Jurors have come to have unrealistic expectations about the quantity, quality, and availability of scientific evidence, thereby raising the effective standard of proof for prosecutors. As technology improves and becomes more prevalent throughout society, people may also develop higher expectations for the capabilities of forensic technology. The csi effect creates unrealistic expectations of the public and has raised the juror’s expectations of the crime investigating field.
Forensic Science is the career field I am interested in. I would enjoy being a forensic science technician because of my interest in mysteries and figuring things out. This career choice is the right choice for me because I would only need a Bachelor’s degree, it would be work I enjoy doing, and I would make an exceptional salary. Forensic science technicians aid investigations by collecting and testing evidence. Many technicians spend time either in a laboratory or on the field in crime scene investigation.
They determine the locations of the victim, suspect, children or pets. Next, they determine if any weapons are involved or are there any weapons in the household. All parties are then separated and then interviewed. During the interview of the victim, the wife, the officers learn that the husband is involved in child pornography. The wife’s discovery of
Throughout life, many are faced with obstacles. These obstacles can either set them further in society and help them reach their aspirations, or those challenges can cause one to refrain from reaching their full potential. Which in retrospect makes them settle for less than what they can fully achieve. The difference in those two paths are work ethic; if one works hard and is honest and fair they can truly achieve greatness, while the other simply settles for the easier option which in the long run may cause them more struggle later in life. Gerald Sheehy lived a life that was positively impacted by his hard work in forensic science advancements in the early stages of the FBI; he got to travel around the country and teach hundreds of people
In today’s age, there has never been more political correctness in our country. If someone says something that offends anyone, regardless of its factuality or veracity, they will be questioned and challenged. Because of this borderline-censorship, we must still have a way to engage audiences and get our point across. Humor provides this. Humorists are able to dive into topics that can be very polarizing and, with the way they communicate, can bring people together while expressing certain opinions.

Science has come a long way over the years. It has helped countless every day struggles and cure diseases most commonly found. What you don’t hear about however is the advancement of forensic science. Forensic science has helped solve countless cases of murder, rape, and sexual assault. In the case of John Joubert, it helped solve the murders of three young boys with one small piece of evidence that linked him directly to the crime.
To begin, physical evidence is an important artifact in any base of a murder trial. First off, there is no evidence of Adnan in Hae’s car liking him to her murder. Sarah says, “There was nothing linking him to the crime-no DNA, no fibers, no hairs.” This demonstrates that the conviction of Adnan is unfair because if there is nothing that shows that Adnan is in the car when Hae was killed, he cannot be convicted for this because theoretically, one cannot be convicted of murder without any physical evidence. Sarah says, “There was nothing linking him to the crime,” so how can the jury make an assumption about the murder without any physical evidence?
For my informational interview, I chose to interview a retired Homicide Detective name Shaun Donelson who is currently now a supervisor for detectives. I interview him because he worked in the field I want to pursue after receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. After the interview I realized becoming a Homicide Detective is not an easy path to go on there are requirements to follow. The minimum requirements to become a homicide detective is a Bachelor’s Degree and experience as a sworn law enforcement officer. Based on information provided in a detective website an average detective salary in California of $97,260 and this is based on an estimation of an hourly wage of $46.76.
Individuals in this field must have the ability to quickly build rapport with children and adolescents, speak effectively before individuals and groups, willingness to travel for up to six consecutive days (and five nights) in order to participate in out-of-town forensic interview training, and have the ability to pass required the Department of Children and Family Services and criminal background checks (Champaign County, 2014). The Bureau of Labor Statistics did not have information directly pertaining to the salary of forensic interviewers but the salary of private detectives, and the median wage in 2015 was $45,610 (BLS, 2016). The salary of a forensic interviewer is highly dependent upon the amount of experience the individual has in that
