The first step to problem solving is framing the problem. How did Principal Goings frame the problem involving Mr. Watson? According to ISLLC standard three, “A school administrator is an educational leader who promotes the success of all students by ensuring management of the organization, operations, and resources for a safe, efficient, and effective learning environment.” This including the focus on human resource management, development and operational procedures and structure within the school.
Politics also play a part in this dynamic on a large and small scale, from the board members who must campaign for their position to individuals engaging in self-promotion in hopes of improving their position. Legitimate formal power and direction comes from the top of the pyramid on down through the ranks. Perched at the top of the power pyramid are five elected county school board members and the county superintendent of schools. Below them are five assistant superintendents and at the next level down are a combination coordinators and program managers. Lastly, all other staff make up the base of this formation, having the least amount of influence and dependent on mid-level managers for resources, information and approval of decisions.

The text states, “The superintendent did have enormous power of initiative in virtually all matters concerning the schools: the appointment of staff, the selection of textbooks, plans and contracts for buildings, the determination of the curriculum, and normal decisions about everyday running of the schools” (159). When examining the formal education of our current educational institutions, it is evident that the power structure lies with superintendents, school boards and principals who share expectations on how classrooms should be run as well as decision making for the betterment of the institution and students. Overall, formal education has evolved and will continue to evolve as educators search for their perception of the “one best system” for their students. The strategic purpose of school governors is to support the school in many ways. This includes, making sure there is a clear vision, ethos and strategic direction within the school. They support the head teacher and hold them accountable for the educational performance of the school and its pupils. They will oversee the financial performance of the school and make sure its money is spent in the right areas. They will also carry out a number of other significant duties, which include the appointing and dismissing of staff, hearing appeals and grievances, forming policy on the school's curriculum, setting standards for pupils' behaviour and discipline and setting and monitoring the school's aims and policies.
In every school there are set policies and procedures so that all people working within the school are aware and stick to the same rules. Consistency is imperative. All adults working in the school would be : teaching staff, support staff, lunchtime supervisors, kitchen staff, governors, after school staff and temporary staff. There are many policies in schools that children and staff should be aware of.

The legislation in schools allows pupils and staff to be aware of their rights within the school setting. The legislations are put in place to ensure that children are in a safe environment to learn and continue learning. Sometimes the decision is made to bring in an external professional to work with the school. This may be necessary if children require specialist assessments if concerns are raised by staff or parent/carers. Although there are many different types of professionals I am going to explain the role of three professionals. Speech therapist work with children who have difficulties with speech, language and communication or eating, drinking and swallowing. They identify the causes of the speech difficulty and create speech and language programmes.
The Rocket Man-Literary Analysis The Rocket Man is a story about a man that has two different lives. The Rocket Man by Ray Bradbury is about a man that is split between staying with his family or going back into space and not seeing them for another few years. He has to choose whether he wants to stay with his family which consists of Doug the son, and Lilly the wife and mother. This story is about a man that has a job as a “Rocket Man” that goes into space for long periods of time and they don’t see their family for a while.
There are many different roles and purposes of these roles within schools. When it comes to school governors it can be said that they have a number of duties within the school they are attached to. This ultimately is ensuring the school upholds a high standard of academic achievement. This can be done and filtered into many different duties which can include, setting various targets and improvements for the school, overseeing school finances, having a well balances and broad curriculum, the hiring of staff which includes reviewing their performance and pay etc. (Queens Inclosure Primary School, 2016).
