Some people may like Donald Trump, but I am going to tell you why 70% of Americans hate him (Li). Donald Trump is a wealthy real estate businessman from New York City. He won the election of 2016, and will be the next president of the United States of America. He is known for being a billionaire, celebrity, has multiple businesses, and ran a successful show, The Apprentice. If you don’t know him already, you may think “wow, he must be a pretty good guy if he has all these accomplishments.” But, a lot of Americans hate him. Donald Trump is a disliked man by many people because his arrogance, unfiltered speech, pseudo-racist speech, and disrespect to women.
The first of the reasons people don’t like Donald Trump is because of his arrogance. He is known for talking about his wealth, and people don’t like that, “a rich, white man who inherited much of his wealth,” flaunts it (Khalid). Trump also likes to put down other people to make himself feel better. He even puts down other people of his party, and, “he chided former rival and Florida Gov. Jeb Bush for being "low energy" and breathed new life to a rumor that Sen. Ted Cruz's (R-Texas) father was behind JFK's assassination” (Khalid). He thinks and speaks very highly of himself. Most people don’t like people that are cocky and overly self confident.

On the other hand, people say that they have a problem with what he says, because it is unfiltered. He likes to speak whatever is on his mind, even if it is encouraging "extreme vetting" which America already has very strict vetting ( Ainsley & Rosenberg). He openly criticizes other politicians, even if they are Republicans, “often by dismissing them as "losers"(Khalid). He doesn’t filter his speech, which also makes people upset. He offends everyone “from politicians to journalists to protesters at his rallies” and “often hits below the belt.”
