The circumstances in which a child is raised can affect their feelings towards literature. If parents are supportive of a child’s education, they will grow up with more happiness towards learning and reading. For example, Jeannette Walls, in her memoir, The Glass Castle, tells how though she was raised in poverty, her parents supported reading. In the same way, Eudora Welty, in her memoir, One Writer’s Beginnings, explains how she was raised in a loving home by parents who completely supported reading. Whereas Walls was raised in poverty, Welty was raised with money.

Theodore Seuss Geisel Theodore Seuss Geisel is an American author. He uses his witty rhymes, fantastical characters, and vivid landscape to connect with children to encourage them to read more. Even though majority of his books are full of fiction and elementary level words, he still seems to write a deeper meaning about politics, life, and plenty of other controversial topics that goes on in the world. Dr. Seuss books are his attempt to connect the reading world to the children who enjoy rhyming and reading entertaining books. It is very rare to find anybody in the world that have not heard of Dr. Seuss books and writings. Dr. Seuss was birth in Springfield, Massachusetts on March 2, 1904.
Another way to see Dr. Seuss as a creative person is by his early career. After he dropped out of Oxford over in England, he moved back to the U.S. with his wife. Here they lived in a nice small house and Seuss started cartooning full-time. As a cartoonist, he wrote little skits and animated them. When World War Two started Seuss began to contribute political cartoons for PM Newspaper, a popular paperback in the 40’s to the 60’s.
The book that I have chosen is a children’s book called “ HOP ON POP” by Dr. Seuss. I chose this particular book because it is an interesting book that I believe will catch the attention of young children. The illustrations a hilarious and I believe the children in my classroom will be laughing. The words are repeated and I believe that if I read this book to my children they will memorized many words/pages.

When he writes, he is inspired by many different things. He gets inspiration from art, old photos, researching, stories on the news, music, sounds, and traveling to new places and discovering their culture. He also is inspired to write by "weird reality". Weird reality is strange things or creatures in life. One example of weird reality that he spoke of is the Mud Skipper.
"UNLESS someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better, it's not. " said in the book called The Lorax by Dr. Seuss. This man has written and published over 60 books in his career. All of his stories have background and meaning to Theodor Geisel.

Dr. Seuss left a huge impact on children's literature and has immensely enhanced what children encounter when they read a children's book. Dr. Seuss explored new ways to change the way children's literature is written by adding techniques like rhyme and humor to add to his writing and to make it more fun and interesting. In most children's books now, one may find humor, a sense of fun, and many other literary techniques that boost writing. If not for Dr. Seuss, children's book may still be dull and not very interesting, leading to a less knowledgeable generation of kids who do not read and learn. Now any time a children's book is enjoyable and fun, one can thank Dr.
The “Ted” Seuss Geisel, known as Dr. Seuss, is a great children’s author (“About Dr. Seuss”). Surprisingly, the start of Dr. Seuss career is quite different from how he ended up. One article states “Ted Geisel started his artistic career as a cartoonist for the New York Weekly Judge and as an advertising artist…” (“About Dr. Seuss”). Another famous doctor in the world is Dr. Sigmund Freud.
