In the health and social care setting the health care professionals have a duty of care for vulnerable adults. In a way that you as the employee should always act in the best interest for everyone in the work setting including vulnerable adults, employees, employer and family members. In my job role I have a duty of care to protect vulnerable adults from abuse and neglect.Also treat everyone fairly with dignity and respect for example a resident has chosen not to participate in attending day centre, as support worker I respected their choice and offered an alternative activity which was more suited to them. 1.2 -Explain how duty of care relates to duty of candour Every employee within Health and social care have a responsibility to be open and honest with in the workplace. Individuals have a right to make a choice even if it is a good or bad choice as a support worker you must respect these choices. Safeguard is put into place when unwise decision is enough to put them at risk or danger to themselves or others.
