Day is the biggest criminal in the Republic, and June suspects that Day murdered her brother, Metais. Then the two meet but, don't know why, and then June finds a dark secret about her brothers murder, and questions a lot. (Front cover) June is the hero in the Dystopian novel Legend by Marie Lu. All teenagers should read this novel. June is the hero because, she makes sacrifices, and is very intelligent. The Critics claim that Day is the hero but this is false.

In this scene, June was relooking through the crime scene of her brothers death. "Suddenly I look closer at the knife in the photo. It's grainy and details are almost impossible to make out, but something triggers an old memory that makes my stomach churn... These black marks look like rifle grease. Almost like the streak of grease that was on Thomas's forehead when I first saw him that night. (Lu, pg. 225&226)" This evidence shows that June is a hero because, just looking at the terrible pictures that were taken she is able to find clues to her brothers killer.
