Reflection of Knowledge and Skills of APS (synthesis): I have learned valuable information regarding providing the appropriate content for learners in my education classes. In EDFO 487, I learned that the content provided to students must align with the state standards and the objectives. Additionally, the assessments must accurately gauge the students’ progress by aligning with the learning objectives. When an effective teacher chooses content for his/her learners, it is vital that they pull from a variety of resources and tools to expose students to a variety of information and instructional methods. Integrating the arts improves student’s engagement and motivation. When choosing the appropriate content for learners, a means of engaging and providing a variety of methods for learners to employ would be to integrate the arts over multiple curriculums. It promotes creativity and allows students a means to visualize concepts, ideas, and skills. Through this type of exposure in a classroom setting, students are presented with new methods of learning, they are expanding their knowledge, and intellectual perspectives.
