History Speech - Hatshepsut Good Morning, I am delighted to be here today to share my depiction of the great Pharaoh Hatshepsut. Pharaoh Hatshepsut ‘Foremost of Noble Ladies’, became the first great woman in history. She was only the third woman to become pharaoh in 3,000 years of ancient Egyptian history and the first women to obtain full power of the position. She was one of the most fascinating personalities of the ancient world with most of the interest focused on her coming from the fact that she was a woman in a man’s world. Traditionally most of the Egyptian rulers were men, but Hatshepsut managed to establish herself as pharaoh of Egypt in 1473 BC, with her impressive reign spanning 22 years.
Fuller and Strath (2001) conducted a quantitative research study that examined local populations of early education organizations based on the 1990 household census data to report features of the early childhood workforce nationwide. Multiple economic and regulatory forces shaped the population of early education organizations that operated within states and local communities. The median center-based teacher was 34 years of age, reported having completed some college, and was married. The median family childcare home provider had a high school diploma. Fifteen percent of all preschool teachers in urban areas were African American and 8% were Latina.
The reading for this week discussed the ongoing changes in the field of early childhood education, providing insight on policies and trends that are relevant and key to the success of our youngest populations. The chapter provided details on the different types of programs and teaching values, as well as the different cultural and social identities and levels of education that make up the people that millions of families entrust their children to everyday. I enjoyed reading this chapter. Ever since I could remember, I have always dreamed of becoming a teacher. When I was little I would pretend I was the teacher and my friends were my students. For the longest time I wanted to get my degree in elementary education and become a second grade teacher. I loved working with younger children and second grade was my favorite year in school. However, in high school, I changed my mind.
Personal Information I am a student attending Miami-Dade college and I’m taking education courses. When it comes to being a teacher I have always wanted to be one. When I was, younger I would always babysit my cousins and I loved taking care of them. When we came back home from school I would sit my cousins down at the table and we would do our homework together. If they every needed help I would explain to them systematically how to do the problem.
I believe that children are our future and as an educator I must equip families with the necessary tools they need to help them develop and maintain a healthy relationship within the family. It is a cycle of the healthiness, a healthy community can build healthy families, healthy families lead to healthy children and healthy children can thrive in a community that leads them to be successful adults. When the community is healthy, the environment that one lives in can grow and continue to produce healthy families. I will work to strengthen families through education, acknowledge and respecting their culture, meeting them in the context of their character and not prejudging and focus on the positive aspects of their life and help them grow.
Ever since I was young I have felt a calling to become an Elementary Teacher. I have discovered that I love working, teaching, and playing with children. I love watching and helping them them grow, develop, and achieve new goals. Being a teacher allows me to combine my passion for caring and working with children and my passion for different subjects of schooling.

My overall philosophy includes that the learning environment should obtain knowledge, security, fun, and be a stimulating setting to achieve a child's ultimate potential. This can have promoted both outdoor and indoor through a mixture of spontaneous play and intentional teaching. I have taken a holistic approach which is setup to fulfill the child socially, emotionally, spiritually, physically, and academically. It's very important that a child feels appreciated and valued as an individual. My position as an educator should promote not just academically but personally as well.

In most early childhood programs and schools, technology will be part of the learning background of the future. To make sure this new technology is used effectively, we must confirm that teachers are fully trained and supported. My educational philosophy has been in development for 15 years. It is a product of my own experiences in school, as well as my opinions on what skills should be taught, and to what extent different components of the child should be developed. The academic, social, emotional, and cognitive development of the children can be heavily influenced in PreK and kindergarten classrooms. It is dependent on the teacher to conduct their classroom in a manner that successfully facilitates the development of each child’s faculties. As a future teacher, it is critical that I enter the classroom with a clear philosophy in regards to how I believe education should be conducted.
Similar previous experience that I participated in were personally rewarding and professionally fulfilling. For instant, 10-month certification in Non-profit executive education; another 10-month program in early childhood leadership called, “Taking Charge of Change” brought personal and professional fulfillment. I have been passionate about early childhood field for many years. While working towards Ed. D program my interest extended towards research and policy in early childhood education.
Being a pre-service training educator, specific goals and objectives should be set to achieve educator’s own educational philosophy. The Educational philosophy is an individual statement of educators’ guiding principles about the education-related issues, which helps to guide when drawing up curricula and structuring classroom discussions for children. Every educator should have their unique set of principles and ideas to affect students’ performance. I strongly believe that early childhood education is to help children to achieve whole person development which including cognitive, physical, mental and social aspects.
