Hey there!

I thought you should know I am so excited to be in this class and to begin to live the dream I have had since I was in Kindergarten. Even since I was little I have wanted to be a teacher and slowly, but surely, my dream is becoming a reality. I absolutely love children and seeing them learn makes my heart full. I have always said that I want to shape the minds of children, and I can say that I have started to impact the lives of children around me.

I was born and raised in the Saint Louis area. I started my education at a catholic school until 4th grade. I always say my Kindergarten teacher is the reason why I want to be a teacher. Mrs. Mankus was the best teacher on the face of this earth. In fact, Mrs. Mankus and I still talk. I think education is priceless. Trying to decide where I wanted to continue my education after high school was difficult for me. I decided to complete the A+ program and went to Saint Louis Community College where I received my Associates in Teaching in December of 2015. After completion of my degree there I have continued my education at University of Missouri Saint Louis where I will graduate in May of 2018 with a Bachelors in Elementary Education with an emphasis of Special Education. I am currently in Practicum 1 at Craig Elementary School in the Parkway School District.

As far as foreign language I have not thought about it much. In high school I took 4 years of spanish, but honestly cannot speak much spanish today. I think that learning about foreign language is a vital aspect as a future educator. The number of students who speak a language other than english is growing. As a future educator I think it is important to learn about the cultures of my students and also learn ways to help students who have english as a second language. This I thought you should
