Preface
The Founding Fathers took into consideration the need for privacy when writing the Bill of Rights when stating " The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated"(U.S. Const., amend. IV.). This demonstrates an authoritative need for a person to have a right to privacy. The current condition for privacy must evolve with the means in which it can be accessed. The access to information in 2015 is astounding, but what is more astounding is the magnitude and means that private information can be transferred.

Despite the obstacles of societies dispute, privacy has several broad underlying topics when it is discussed. Discussion of privacy is expressed in terms of individual ability to have freedom of other people, public attention, companies, or observation of government agencies that can be applied in both domestically and internationally situations. The emphasis to define and protect privacy is both tied to the traditional and evolving perceptions around privacy. One particular aim is to safeguard peoples individuality, meaning a person should be able to preserve the mastery over the person's data. People are held accountable for what information they do decide to disclose but information disclosed should only be disclosed at that individual's request or action. Another objective for the importance of privacy is within the content that could be disclosed about a person. The majority of the workforce that are in the position to be monitored do not wish to be monitored. Employment has been a very scarce asset recently and individuals are subject and tolerating more restrictive workplaces than when our economy was more prosperous. Even though an employee may be required to take a job that monitors electronic communications, that does not mean that the policy to monitor will not affect the employee's performance and demeanor. Implementation of monitoring the workplace has shown that this policy could provide an environment in which the employees have no motivation or trust in company management. Hindering the ability of management to form a relationship with the employees can be very counterproductive. Among many other possibilities that oppose companies monitoring electronic communication, some companies acknowledge the legal line that monitoring could easily cross that would infringe upon the employees' privacy. Despite the obvious knowledge that applying a regulation in moderation is the best policy, many companies tend to intensify their power.
