There are many alternatives to embryonic stem cell research, alternatives with great potential in regards to saving lives rather than destroying it. Embryonic research is viewed as immoral because it disrespects and disregards the nature and dignity of the human life.
Embryonic stem cell research is the obtaining of embryonic stem cells from the embryo in attempt to treat multiple diseases such as Diabetes, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, spinal cord injury, Lou’s Gehrig's Disease, cancer, cardiovascular disease, rheumatoid arthritis etc. In other words, embryonic stem cell research is the experimentation on embryo stem cell lines for medical purposes that destroy an embryo in the process of removing and harvesting the cells from the inner mass …show more content…

John Paul II, it states,
Human life is sacred because from its beginning it involves ‘the creative action of God’, and it remains forever in a special relationship with the Creator, who is its sole end. God alone is the Lord of life from its beginning until its end: no one can, in any circumstance, claim for himself the right to destroy directly an innocent human being In embryonic stem cell research, scientists take on a role that is not theirs; that role being God. God himself has the only right on whether or not to destroy an innocent human being and this includes an embryo. No scientist has the right to destroy a human life even if the human life is still an embryo. No person has the right to make a decision as to when someone else’s life should end. This is a form of murder because scientists are intentionally destroying a human being. Not only are scientist destroying embryos but they are also trying to take destiny into his own hands which then exposes him to “temptation to go beyond the limits of a reasonable dominion over” (Instruction n Respect for Human Life). Although, scientists are doing this in attempt to help benefit others, it does not mean it is right to end another’s life as well as endangering their own morality by committing an immoral
