It also makes us wonder about the respect we have for human life. The problem posed by this type of research is the moral dilemma of whether or not a baby is alive before it is born. Embryonic Stem Cell Research is good because it helps improve our understanding of the body. It helps us understand how diseases occur and develop. Cancer or birth defects are a result of problems in the process in the process of differentiation from stem cells to more specialized cells. First and foremost the embryonic stem cell lines do not come from aborted fetuses. The main thing that people bring up to try and oppose Embryonic Stem Cell research is that when you perform this kind of research it destroys the embryo. More than not the embryo is always destroyed, but the embryos used were going to be destroyed anyways. They were either donated for the research or they were rejected for implantation and they were going to be destroyed anyways. So there was only one fate for the Embryos. They would be destroyed either for nothing or for a good cause. Why not the good
