Is Embryonic Stem Cell Research Okay?
Over sixty thousand adult lives are saved every year due to stem cell research. Stem cells have a successful record with over ninety medical conditions and diseases including sickle cell anemia, heart tissue damage and various cancers. Embryonic stem cell research should continue and be heavily funded due to the immense progress that it has brought towards medical innovation, the current lack of research, and the endless possibility that stem cells offer.

In the last forty years the national cancer institute has spent 90 billion dollars on stem cell research but the funding for pediatric cancer trials is over 584 million dollars a year. They will hit 90 billion dollars in 18 years whereas stem cell research took forty. One of the central goals for stem cell research is to be able to recreate new organs and replace the cancerous organs that would once be a complete transplant. This goal could be groundbreaking towards cancer treatment and prevention and beneficial to the pediatric cancer trials themselves. The problem with funding in research is the small amount of stem cells that we are actually able to work with due to the moral question about embryos at such a young stage. We are unsure yet Data has not yet been presented to be able to decide whether or not embryos at such a young state are considered to be humans at a stage like any other in the reproduction cycle or still here are embryos young enough that they aren't . considered anything more than cells. This is a very controversial subject due the fact that there is no research pointing either way no research pointing either way, People cannot determine whether it be good or bad that these stem cells are taken at such a young age.
