Even though in of the mice in men African Americans and women didn't much have a voice, but this day in age we have the generation X and generation Y. These generations are known for their outspoken opinions and making something heard and known. People are starting to notice even though things are not the same as it was in of the mice in men, there are certain things that people have looked passed for a while, like racism and equal rights for women. These generations are taking advantage of the voices they have, to speak out about equal rights, much the same as the acts in of mice in men.

It goes all the way back to the 1600s even before it was problem with crooks. Racism is sadly still an issue even now as it was during the timing of mice in men. Even though black people have the same rights, they defiantly aren't treated as equal. Equal rights for African Americans has always been a problem, but like the women rights, even though curlys wife and crooks didn't have a voice, it is now a new time and people are making it known that there are problems that need be fixed. Recently there was research conducted by ProPublica stating, "black children across the South now attend majority-black schools at levels that have not been seen in four decades." Seem familiar? The report states that "Black, Latino and Native Americans have a bigger chance of going to schools with a higher concentration of first year teachers than white students." It has is stating that African American kids are three times more likely to be expelled then white kids. The report makes it very clear that many young people are being treated wrong because of their race, which unacceptable. Education is essential in everyone's life; someone's race shouldn't change the way they are being treated. Equality in educational is something that needs major improvement. As with women, even though it's not a big issue in America, it's a big issue in other countries. According to the UNESCO Institute of Statistics, 31 million girls of primary school age do not attend school and 17 million of these girls will probably never attend school in their lifetimes. They need to continue to encourage these girls to go to school. According to a Washington Post article,
