As a future school leader, my vision will be to support learning for all students and improve student achievement. I believe that I would shape an energetic community of learning to construct and support students for the future.
As I reflect on my personal growth through the ELCC standards, the ELCC Standard 1 and 2 provided me with the leadership skills on the area of collaboration to develop a shared vision. By working with other teachers, I improved my skills in building the capacity of others and collecting and analyzing data related to students learning. By engaging teachers and school members in improvement strategies, I built positive relationships with teachers, parents, and students. In addition, my communication skills improved. I understand I must work with the school community and build relationships so that the school and community coexist together for the learning purpose of the students. Through my experiences, I learned that the most important standard for accomplishment is to support teachers in the direction of a shared vision, build relationships and involve teachers in the decision making process. A school leader must be willing to effectively deliver the school vision to teachers and students to achieve outcomes. My internship experience allowed to understand that it is important that a school leader acknowledges that solid connections and relationships between teachers are vital for the creativity and productivity of the school vision and goals.
