African Americans Vs. America’s Education

It’s crazy how now its means everything for African Americans to get an education. I understand that back then it was prohibited for them to even write. First of I would like to thank God for even allowing me to be able to create the blog because if this was back then I would be in big trouble right about now. How can a person even know where to start when it comes to getting an education when they were only instructed to work? Who would even want to get an education knowing that if they were to get caught they could possibly die? Education wasn’t important to African Americans because it was forced not to be. Slaves were only allowed to work so when they were emancipated they didn’t even know what to do other that what they’ve learned over the years; agricultural work. Many of the freed slaves were neglected so they couldn’t even begin to think about picking up a book and pencil to ask for an education. The only thought that they had was working to survive and it’s been that way for many years. Back then women only responsibilities were to stay put and make sure the family were doing good at home while the men were able to get an education it would’ve been better, in fact I think the gap would’ve been reversed. Why do I believe so? Because African Americans were always taught to work hard for what they want and we are already looked at as underdogs so that would give us motivation to prove that we are on the same level or even further. So imagine if this was back then this country would be so much better if African Americans had the same opportunities as
