A law to all, is mandatory. A law to many, is controversial. A law to some, is optional. A law to few, is never going to be broken. Currently, people take the law into their own hands. Many people pick and choose what laws they believe should be followed, and what laws they believe should be broken. I strongly believe that civil disobedience positively impacts a society. Revisiting our history and honing in on a few individuals who broke the law and left positive marks on society and culture, prove peaceful law resistance does benefit a society. Through peaceful law and fighting for what is right, I am proud to live in NYC where we are leading in LGBT inclusion. Her renowned story is learned by all in schools today. We all know her as the woman who refused to move to the back of the bus to allow a white person to sit in her seat, even though that was the law. She did not do this in an angry or violent manner. She simply did not move. Her civil disobedience led to the eventual change of rights and positively impacted society. Rosa Parks knew that. This may sound detrimental to most, but really it did no harm. Snowden did not release any vital plans or methods of America. Snowden did release information to the general public which violates our privacy rights. He leaked that the N.S.A is monitoring nearly everyones phone calls, internet, and social medias. Snowden broke his jobs code by sharing this information, but he was just doing the right thing. Just like Americans have the right to know that their calls are being monitored even if they are not a suspect or a threat to the US. Edward did not break this law with cruel and ugly intentions.
