It has been over 50 years since the Cuban Embargo has been placed. Within that time the United States have gained nothing from it; which means change has to happen. Obama’s presidency has already made big changes within the act, such as improving human rights, U.S. economy, and many restrictions that were imposed have been lifted already; such as trade and financial restrictions. Furthermore, the United States has been lifting the Embargo Act slowly but surely resulting in prosperity and by doing so, it is only smart to continue if the results are positive.

Obviously that would not be a smart idea since so much has already been worked on to lift it, although it may take some time; the act has already been working on getting lifted. Travel and Trade restriction have already begun being lifted by Obama, allowing family visits (Lamrani,3) There are now flights who fly directly to Cuba from the United States. Former President Obama has allowed to visit Cuba under the circumstances of religious needs, journalism, private businesses, education, professional research. Trading has now been opened between the two, allowing easy access to materials such as Cuban sugars, food, and much more. With the act being lifted, Cuba and the United States have improved on the foreign affairs. President Obama proposed to have plans of opening an embassy and making it easier to travel to Cuba (Javed,16) all in which he has done. In July 20, 2015; President Obama opened a U.S. embassy in Havana, Cuba. Americans that visit Cuba are now allowed to use credit cards, carry more cash, allowed to send money to loved ones in Cuba, and financial assistance to work towards humanitarian goals and private businesses (Lamrani, 2)

The trade restriction should be removed. The whole idea of having this embargo act and what comes with it like the trading is so that Cuba can adopt the democratic government, but yet the United States still trades with countries who have communism as government (Rangel,332), countries
