Introduction Did you know that 30% of the world is either obese or overweight? According to the Food Institute’s analysis of data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, “Millennials alone spend 44 percent of their budget’s food dollars on eating out”. Do Millennials truly know what making a quick stop in the drive thru of a restaurant can do to their bodies? When a person eats fast food often, they can run into a major problem the United States of America is currently facing, which are health problems. Health problems are defined as “a state in which you are unable to function normally and without pain” (The Free Dictionary). The health problems that can develop by eating fast food frequently are a higher chance of becoming obese, developing cancer, heart diseases, and many more. Many of the Krum High School students who took my survey are involved in extracurricular activities. Since they are always busy fast food is an extremely convenient way for them to eat and still get to their activities on time. Another reason the students eat fast food is because it is cheaper to buy the unhealthy foods than the healthy ones. In the article Fast Food Survey: Most Customers Choose Fast Food for Convenience, 32% of people eat fast food because “it’s cheap”. One final reason many of the Krum High School students eat fast food is that they do not like the food in the cafeteria. Many of the students in my classes complain about how disgusting and gross our cafeteria food is. So instead of packing a lunch students will bring fast food for their lunch. Overall the students at Krum High School would rather keep eating the unhealthy fast foods knowing the health risks then spend some time cooking a well
