There are many people who have similar ideas about minorities and why they struggle more than white people, but these ideas are actually very wrong. Another topic I wanted to talk about was incarceration rates of minorities. You were correct when you said that minorities have higher incarceration rates than white people, but I’m not quite sure you understand why this occurs. It has been proven that a higher number of minorities are stopped by police than white people. Since a higher number of minorities are stopped, a higher number are also arrested and sentenced. This makes it appear that minorities commit more crimes than white people, but this is in fact not the case.
